Salted Roots bringing community driven yoga studio to Seward

Salted Roots is opening a community-driven yoga studio in downtown Seward. We are opening on June 21st with a special live violinist and yoga event.


We will host classes weekly, $12 local rate, $16 drop-in rate.


June 22nd – We are partnering with the Alaska Sealife Center and hosting a Seabird inspired yoga class, happening at the Rae Building at 9 am on Saturday June 22nd. Props are provided and cOmmunity members are welcome. MUST PREREGISTER. Space is Limited! Save the date for the first annual Seward Seabird Festival. Activities will take place all around Seward June 21, 22, and 23. All weekend long, visit Seward for events celebrating the migration of Alaska’s seabirds through education, science, and art!  


June 29th –  We are partnering with Foage Apothecary to host a Devil’s Club salve making workshop. Come spend an evening with Charity and Tess of Forage Apothecary making Devils Club Salve. Learn how to harvest the various parts of the plant all while gaining knowledge about its many medicinal uses. At the end of the workshop each student with walk away with a jar of Devils Club salve and additional plant matter to continue creating at home.  

July 20th –  We are partnering with Jennifer Leonard of Evolve Personal wellness for a Acupuncture + Yin workshop. This workshop will combine Yin and Acupuncture to open the body’s meridian system, which enhances the body’s energetic flow and supports emotional equilibrium. Jennifer Leonard, LAc, MSMBM, will give a brief overview of acupuncture and how it relates to physical and emotional well-being. Each student will receive a gentle moving and calming acupuncture treatment during savasana, intended to promote well-being on both physical and emotional levels.
