Troopers have confirmed a small plane crash near mile 37 of the Seward Highway on Friday at about 4 p.m.
According to a release from the Alaska State Troopers, a small plane with four people on board went down in the mountainous terrain near Moose Pass.
Alaska Air National Guard Pararescuers responded to the crash site and located one survivor in critical condition, who was airlifted to Providence ER, according to the trooper report.
The Alaska State Trooper Helo 3 will be flying to the scene today, June 29, to attempt recovering the remaining three victims.
Recovery efforts are hampered by poor visibility due to wildfire smoke and mountainous terrain, according to the trooper report.
Victim names have not yet been released.
