Weekly Roundup — Dec. 17

In the final week before Christmas, Seward is slowing down (a well-deserved rest after a weekend full of events, shovelling and plowing).

City Hall is quiet leading up to the holidays with just one meeting scheduled. The Port & Commerce Advisory Board will meet at 12 p.m. Wednesday.

Don’t forget that Wednesday’s are FREEzing Wednesday at the Alaska SeaLife Center. Take a break from skiing around and warm up with free admission for Alaska residents to the Alaska SeaLife Center.

Thursday, the Seward Sun (hey, that’s me!) is hosting a meet and greet at the library at 6 p.m. Stop by, let us know how the Seward Sun can best serve the community and get an overview of how to use community submissions for events and posts!

Brown & Hawkins is counting down the days till Christmas with their “Christmas Crunch.” From Dec. 21 to Dec. 24, the store will have extended hours and holiday deals.

Seward-area students are also counting down the days until Friday, the first day of winter break for students! School starts up again Monday, Jan. 6, 2019.

The Yukon Bar is celebrating the holidays Saturday with an Industry Holiday Party featuring DJ Hakerchief. The party starts at 9 p.m. Red’s Taxis is giving away two plane tickets to Las Vegas or any other destination of equal or lesser value.

The Weekly Roundup is a collection of events, meetings and more. It’s posted each Monday on The Seward Sun. Have an event you’d like to see in the weekly roundup? Add it to the community boardcalendar or email editor@sewardsun.com
